Manning’s Comeback Journey Will Go Through Hawaii
NEW YORK (AP) — After missing all of last season and them moving from Indianapolis to Denver, Peyton Manning is headed back to the Pro Bowl. The veteran quarterback ranks fourth in the league in passing. He's thrown for 34 TDs with just 11 interceptions and is one of five Broncos headed to Honolulu for the Jan. 27 game.
Adrian Peterson's comeback from a major knee injury suffered on Christmas Eve last year earned the Minnesota running back a spot on the roster. Peterson is running away with the NFL rushing title. He's got a career-best 1,898 yards with a game still to play.
Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III also gets a roster spot. Fellow standout rookie quarterbacks Andrew Luck, the No. 1 overall draft pick ahead of Griffin, and Seattle's Russell Wilson didn't make it.
San Francisco had the most player selected with nine, while Houston was next with eight.
