Man Tries to Steal From Two Missoula Stores Within Minutes
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 24, 2025, at around 2:18 PM, Missoula Police Department officers were dispatched to Worden’s Market for a report of an attempted theft that had just occurred. A male attempted to steal two bottles of wine from the store. An employee was able to grab the wine back from the suspect, who left on foot, southbound on Higgins Ave. The suspect was described as being a Native American male with a shaved head and wearing a black jacket.
Approximately three minutes later, an employee from Revolvr Menswear on Higgins Ave. called 911 and reported the theft of a hat from their store. The suspect male matched the description of the suspect male from Worden’s Market.
As an officer arrived in the area, he was flagged down by a female. She stated that she saw the male suspect running out of Revolvr Menswear. She followed the male in her vehicle and took a photo of him, which she was able to show the officer.
Other officers in the area located the male at Higgins Ave. and Main St., and he was detained. He was identified as 35-year-old Colton Lacombe. The officer arrived on scene with the other officers and confirmed that Lacombe was the male he observed in the photo.
Another officer had advised Lacombe of his Miranda Rights. As officers spoke with Lacombe, he admitted numerous times to stealing the hat. Lacombe stated that he just walked in, took it, and didn’t say anything to the employee.
Then the officer asked him about Worden’s Market. Lacombe first denied being at the market. As the officer continued to ask him about it, Lacombe remembered that he was at Worden’s during the time in question and admitted to trying to steal some wine.

Another officer went to Worden’s and spoke with an employee. The employee explained that he was notified of the attempted theft by one of their wine suppliers. He then came up from behind Lacombe and pulled the two bottles out of his hands. He said Lacombe responded by turning around and rearing his arm back as if he was going to strike him, while stating that he was going to kill him. When asked how he felt at the moment, he said, “Well, here it goes. I’m going to be stabbed over some wine.”
Lacombe was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. He is currently being charged with felony robbery.
