On July 12, 2022, at around 1:35 am, an employee at a local bar in the 100 block of West Broadway called 911 to request an intoxicated male be removed and trespassed from the business.

The employee told dispatch that the male was refusing to leave because it was his birthday and that he was harassing other customers. The employee also said that the male had exposed himself to her. Missoula Police Department officers responded to the scene. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold explains.

"Officers had responded to a call for service at a local bar for a male, Thomas Graham, who was intoxicated, harassing customers, exposing himself, and refusing to leave the establishment," Arnold said. "Officers located the 911 caller and identified Graham as the person they had called 911 about. When officers contacted Graham, Graham refused to identify himself to officers. Officers had a lawful reason to be in contact with Graham, making it so Graham had to identify himself to officers."

An officer asked Graham if he had an ID so he could be fully identified. Graham stated that he did and then gestured as if he was patting his pockets trying to locate his wallet. Graham then told the officer that he was drunk and ultimately did not provide his ID.

The officer told Graham that they were called to remove him for having been reported to have exposed his genitals to staff.

"Officers tried multiple times to explain to Graham the reason for the contact and his requirement to identify himself," Arnold said. "Graham continued to refuse. Officers placed Graham under arrest and during the search incident to arrest, the officers located his identification as well as a bag of a white powdery substance that tested presumptive positive for cocaine."

An officer logged the suspected cocaine into evidence where it will be transported to the Montana State Crime Lab for chemical analysis. Graham was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. Graham is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and obstructing a peace officer.
