Man Finds Meth and a Burglar Inside His Missoula Home

At around 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Missoula Police Officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of S 11th Street W for a report of a burglary. An officer made contact with the property owner who said he was renovating the home. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“He arrived at the property earlier that morning and discovered 47-year-old Lisa Borelli inside the residence,” Welsh said. “Apparently, she had been staying there overnight. Borelli left the residence, but she came back later in the day and the complainant called police.”

Borelli showed up at the house and was demanding some of her property back. The complainant said that he believed Borelli was under the influence of some sort of substance.

“Officers made contact with Borelli who made admissions to being in that residence,” Welsh said. “The officers also were directed to some property that Borelli had left behind that included a substance that they suspected, and later confirmed, to be methamphetamine.”

Court documents indicate Borelli left some clothes in the home. She also admitted to drinking a Coca Cola and some flavored water, but denied that the drugs belonged to her.

An officer also found a thick piece of string wrapped around a metal buckle, which he recognized as being commonly used to ingest illegal substances intravenously, referred to as a tourniquet.

An officer said Borelli was constantly interrupting and acting highly irrational, she appeared hyper and could not answer questions without getting off topic. He believed she was under the influence of a stimulant, such as methamphetamine.

Borelli was charged with one count of felony burglary.
