Man Crashes Car On Reserve Street, Missoula Police Charge Him With DUI
Missoula Police were notified of a reckless driver on Mullan Road Wednesday evening by multiple citizens. Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says the driver was headed down Reserve Street before he suddenly came to a stop.
“As officers were responding, a second caller had notified 911 that the vehicle had in fact crashed in the 2200 Block of N. Reserve Street,” said Welsh. “Officers arrived and did make contact with the driver and he was subsequently arrested for DUI.”
During their investigation, Welsh says that officers also discovered that the man was in possession of dangerous drugs.
“As the investigation continued they found that the driver, who is identified as 44-year-old Michael McVey, was in fact in possession of a white crystal substance that they have preliminary identified as methamphetamine,” Welsh said. “He is being held on criminal possession of dangerous drugs, which is a felony, aggravated DUI, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia.”
According to Welsh, McVey almost struck the initial complainants car as they tried to pass and drive around him.
