Man Asleep in His Car Gets Caught With a Large Amount of Drugs

At around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Missoula police officers were called to a convenience store parking lot in the 400 block of Russell Street. It was reported that a male appeared to be passed out in a running vehicle that had not move for about 30 minutes. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The officers arrived and found the vehicle, which was in fact running,” Welsh said. “They attempted to make contact with the driver, but he appeared to be passed out. They managed to wake him and identified him as 32-year-old Jarod Schwab. The officers made observations of drug use while they were speaking to Mr. Schwab. At the conclusion of the investigation, he was placed under arrest.”

According to court documents, Schwab had a sandwich bag full of 184 Oxycodone Hydrochloride 30mg pills in one of his pockets. The street value of the 184 pills is approximately $4,600.00.

Schwab’s vehicle was seized and a search warrant was approved. Law enforcement found approximately 65 grams of heroin, about 29 grams of methamphetamine, $760 in cash, 10 used syringes, 14 Hydromorphone pills, and drug paraphernalia inside Schwab’s vehicle.

As a result, Schwab is being charged with five separate felony offenses, which include three counts of criminal possession with intent to distribute other drugs, one count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, and one count of unlawful possession of property subject to criminal forfeiture.
