Knife Wielding Theft Suspect Sought in Hills Near Victor
Ravalli County sheriff’s deputies tracked 27 year-old Alex Sabo into the hills near Victor on Tuesday evening until they lost his tracks, and now are asking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect.
Sheriff Steve Holton said Sabo is wanted for multiple crimes.
“We’ve been working on the case since yesterday for felony forgery and felony theft charges,” Holton said. “I believe that Mr. Sabo somehow got word about the investigation and fled his Victor area home on foot. He made some suicidal statements to his family, as well. When deputies arrived they were able to track him for about five miles on foot before they lost the tracks on a trail.”
Holton said in his haste, Sabo got rid of what could be damaging evidence.
“We found a bag containing some drug paraphernalia and some dangerous drugs,” he said. “We don’t want anyone to approach him or try to apprehend him because we believe he was carrying a large K-Bar style hunting knife and he was wearing all dark clothing.”
Anyone who may spot Sabo or know of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Ravalli County Sheriff’s office at 363-3033, or use the contact button on the Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office smartphone app.
