Montana has hundreds of scenic nature spots that make every avid outdoorsperson drop their jaw in awe. From hikes to waterfalls to scenic routes to hot springs to, well, you name it, Montana's got it.

Montana's also got plenty of gorgeous lakes to spend time at. Flathead, Seeley, and Swan, just to name a few popular locales in Western Montana.

But I'm not sure you'll find a more stunning lake than the Montana lake that the National Parks Guide selected as one of the prettiest lakes in the U.S.

Avalanche Lake

National Parks Guide's Instagram page chose Avalanche Lake in Glacier National Park as one of the 10 prettiest lakes in the U.S.

"Forest hike in, waterfalls coming down the cliffs above you, bright mountain water at the end. One of the best in the park." - National Parks Guide's Instagram

Top 10 Prettiest Lakes in the USA

As for the rest of the top 10 list, there is one other lake you could make a trip to see relativley easy.

Lake Blanche (Utah)

Located about 30 minutes from Salt Lake City, Lake Blanche is "one of the best hikes in the state that most people haven't done."

You could make this drive from Montana for a day or a weekend.
