Squash Your Inhibitions! Meet Delicata at Humane Society of Western Montana
While we're sure many of you know, you can be forgiven if you're not well-versed on various types of squash. (Or is it squashes?)
MEET DELICATA (Della Cotta)
It was another Take Me Home Tuesday at the radio stations with the Humane Society of Western Montana, sponsored by Paul's Pancake Parlor of Missoula. Katie introduced us to Delicata, who along with her siblings Butternut, Acorn and Spaghetti make up an adorable Squash Squad waiting for adoption. If you're a sucker for pretty brindle fur, you'll definitely want to visit these adorable new arrivals at the shelter.
A LARGER DOG WHEN SHE REACHES ADULTHOOD
At 8-9 weeks old, Delicata is a pretty big puppy, as are her litter mates. The pups came to the shelter from the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribe area, one of the Missoula shelter's transfer partners. They were an accidental litter brought down to get spayed, neutered and re-homed.
FREE VACCINE CLINIC AND MICROCHIPS A HUGE SUCCESS
The Humane Society of Western Montana recently held another of their free vaccine clinic and microchip days. It was pandamonium! The line of cars was incredible, but people who brought their dogs and cats to the shelter were patient and appreciative of this generous service, and they were able to see 168 pets in just a few hours' time.
We will let you know details about the next free clinic in early December when Katie visits us again.

PUPPIES GALORE!
Delicata and her litter mates will be ready for adoption starting Wednesday, November 19. Katie tells us that they have some other puppies that should be arriving for their surgeries by the end of the week. Just check back often on the Humane Society of Western Montana's website to see a lot of young, adorable fluffy faces.
