Look through the Guinness World Records, and you'll likely find some obscure record achievement that you could possibly break.

And of course you have to have witnesses and get your accomplishment certified. But unless you have mighty Herculean strength, you probably won't go near this one.

Big Sky Country congratulations to the new Guinness world record holder for swinging a 132-pound kettlebell, Ray Hibnes of Butte. Yes, that's "swinging," not "throwing." And it makes us wonder if that didn't feel like the longest 60 seconds of Ray's life!

THE FYI: WHAT IS A KETTLEBELL?

For those of you who don't know, a kettlebell is a cast iron or steel weight with a handle that resembles a cannonball. Available in various weights, they are used in weight training exercises that combine strength, cardiovascular exercise, and mobility. According to KXLF-Butte, Ray Hibnes put all those skills together to shatter a Guinness World Record for kettlelbell swings in one minute.

WEIGHTS, MEASURES, MATH

After consideration of the record pursuit, Ray went with a 132-pound kettleball at his local gym, Kinetic Fitness. He completed an astounding 39 swings in his to attempt at the world record for the most weight lifted by kettlebell swing in one minute.

We take the 39 swings, or perhaps rotations if you prefer, multiply that by the kettlebell's weight of 132 pounds to reach a total of 5,148 pounds. And that, folks, gives you a world record, outdistancing the previous record holder's (who is from Switzerland) weight of 4,815 pounds!

Ray had a team from Kinetic Fitness witness and time the event. He says he wants to put the record to positive use, working with people who know how to raise money, and doing demonstrations for charitable events.

That is a lot of power and speed!
