Mountain Dew Cans in Montana Have a Special Detail You’ll Want to See
Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff of summer, which means many of us were eating and drinking fun, summer foods. I'm not a huge soda drinker, but there was pop at the festivities I was attending. Someone showed me something really cool on their can of Mountain Dew.
On the side of the can was a logo for ZooMontana along with Pabu, the Red Panda. The logo had been recolored to match the Mountain Dew can and came with a QR code (which I tried to open but it didn’t work. I’m guessing it just takes you to the ZooMontana website).
This is where we might need help with a little crowdsourcing: how did ZooMontana end up on a Mountain Dew can?
Here’s what we’ve found out so far.
Back in 2020, the CityBeat in Ohio reported on a Mountain Dew bottle featuring the Cincinnati Zoo’s Hippo, Fiona. But it looks like that was part of a contest that ended in 2020. In that article, they say it was a special edition that’s part of the “DEWNited States Label Collection.” But when you look up DEWNited states it takes you to the DEW Nation HQ, and I couldn’t find anything about the States Label Collection.

I did a bit more searching around and found a picture from the States Label Collection promotion—but they promotion was on bottles, not cans. And, the promotion was a while ago.
So, who knows what the current promotion is all about? Let us know in the comments or send us a message on the app. Either way, it’s cool that ZooMontana is getting a shout-out on a can of Mountain Dew.
