Important: Ice Cream Recall for Products Sold in Montana

Well, this is a bummer.

One of the best parts of summer is eating ice cream. Sure, you can eat ice cream any time of the year, but it tastes better, and there's more opportunity to eat it during "ice cream season."

That's why it's a bummer to share the news that some ice cream distributed to Montana (and nationwide, actually) has been recalled by the company Totally Cool Inc. based in Owings Mills, Maryland. They sell national ice cream products that are available at stores in Montana, so you'll want to check your freezer.

Why the Ice Cream Has Been Recalled

The notice posted to the FDA website says the company initiated the recall for a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The good news is that there haven't been any illnesses yet, but if you do have one of these products, they say you can return it to where you purchased it for a refund.

It's really important to check to make sure you don't have one of these products because Listeria monocytogenes can be fatal for children and the elderly. One of the most common grandparent-grandchild activities is to have ice cream together, so make sure to check your labels.
