Fire on Ice Returns to Missoula With Hockey, Raffles, and Local Heroes
One of the coolest fundraisers around is coming up, and it’s gearing up to be another entertaining event. Not only is it fun for the people who just want to watch a great game, it also helps to raise money for some of the hardest-working people in our community.
Event Details: Date, Time, and Location
The 14th Annual Fire on Ice hockey competition is coming to the Glacier Ice Rink on Saturday, February 7, puck drops at 6 p.m. This is a friendly competition between the Missoula Structure Firefighters and the Wildlanders (wildland fire fighters).

Admission to this event is free again this year. There will be a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, and more. Money raised will go to Fired Up for Kids and the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
This year, organizers added an online raffle, called Danny’s Raffle, in memory of MRFD Battalion Chief Dan Merritt. The raffle raises funds for local charitable causes.
Firefighters are a close-knit group, but when that puck drops, it’s game on and the friendly trash-talking begins. Every year, the Glacier Ice Rink is rockin’ for this event.
Why This Event Is a Missoula Favorite
This year, the Celtic Dragon Pipe Band has the honor of once again being invited to play before the puck drops. As a member of the band, I can tell you this is one of the most fun gigs we play every year.
Make your plans to support your local firefighters this February, and don’t forget to support your local pipe band.
