I don't understand the love of playing golf. It's supposed to be this leisure, laid-back sport you can continue to play into your old age, but every time I golf, I'm incredibly upset and say some horrible things to myself.

If I'm playing in Montana, I might as well give up now because it's not going to end well.

Montana Ranks #10 in Hardest States to Golf

The team at Hard Rock Bet "analyzed nearly 60,000 rated tees across approximately 16,800 US golf courses, ranking every state and Washington, D.C. by its average course rating."

Montana cracked the top 10 with an average course rating of 70.58.

"Course rating estimates how difficult a golf course is for a highly skilled (scratch) golfer. The higher the rating, the tougher the course is expected to play."

Hard Rock looked at 395 tees and 127 golf courses in the state to discover we were the 10th most difficult state to golf in. They compared only 18-hole tees with a par between 68 and 75, and only courses with a course and slope rating.
