Money Williams Scores 40 in Big Sky Tournament Classic

Monday night's quarterfinals displayed one of the best performances by a Montana Grizzly in the history of the Big Sky Conference Tournament.

Heck, Money Williams' performance was one of the best tourney showings by any player from any Big Sky team of all-time.

Money Williams scored 40 points with 7 rebounds and 3 assists in Montana's 95-89 win over Northern Colorado. It was just the 4th time EVER that a player scored 40 or more in a Big Sky Tournament game, per Riley Corcoran on the radio broadcast.

Randy Onwuasor (Southern Utah): 43 points — 2017 First Round vs Montana State
Tyler Harvey (Eastern Washington): 42 points — 2015 Quarterfinal vs Idaho
Anthony Johnson (Montana): 42 points — 2010 Championship vs Weber State

It was the first time in any game that a Grizzly has scored 40+ since Anthony Johnson did it in the 2010 Big Sky Championship game. That was Johnson's epic 42-point performance in the Big Sky title game in front of a hostile Weber State crowd against one of the best talents to ever come through the Big Sky in Damian Lillard.

Johnson's 42 points are still the program record for points in a game.

In 79 games, Williams has scored almost 1300 points — placing him 15th on the all-time scoring list.

Williams' 40 points are a career high, and he also jumped up the single-season scoring list. Williams has 648 points this year, which is the 4th most in Grizzly history.

Plus, there's a good chance he'll catch Michael Ray Richardson, who has 655 points in a single season.
