Meet the Griz: Inside Mack Konig’s Farewell to the Lady Griz
Meet the Griz: Mack Konig
With a heavy heart, we have to say goodbye to the captain of the Lady Griz and four-year veteran Mack Konig. With two games at minimum left remaining in her career of 116 games, Konig now reflects on her time with the Lady Griz.
“It’s been a pretty good year, I would say that this year has been quite a roller coaster, but overall, I had a great career,” explained Konig.
Now what’s left is to finish her career off strong and go as far as possible in the Big Sky Conference Championship. In the back seat, however, Konig sits at 1,319 points in her career, which is only 41 points behind 10th-place all-time leading scorer Ann Lake.
Looking back, there were many crazy moments and surprises in Konig's career, but one stood above the rest.
“You’ll go some places, and they will be like I am a Cats fan, but you know, you're a wonderful player, and you're like you know I really appreciate that,” explained Konig. “I think that was the most shocking, the responses to stuff like that.”
