Banana Ball Is Coming To Montana! Could Missoula Be Next?
"We make baseball fun." That's the tagline on the Savannah Bananas website. Baseball traditionalists will argue and call the Bananas childish or foolish because it's not baseball. To those I say, "Yeah, yeah. Go yell at the clouds, old man."
The Bananas are fun. Do I want to watch the Bananas over the Major League Baseball playoffs? No, absolutely not, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the antics of the Bananas. I'd love to attend a game.
Montanans will have a chance to see Banana Ball next year.
Banana Ball is expanding
Bananas owner Jesse Cole appeared on SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt on Thursday, October 9. Cole announced two new teams: Loco Beach Coconuts and the Indianapolis Clowns. They join the Bananas, the Party Animals, the Texas Tailgaters and the Firefighters next season to compete for the inaugural Banana Ball Championship.
It won't be the Bananas, but the Firefighters and Party Animals will play a three-game series in Billings at Dehler Park next August 20-22.

Cole even shouted out Billings, Montana, on his interview with Van Pelt.
"Obviously, you gotta look at Kyle Field - Texas A&M - 102 thousand fans. Neyland Stadium, University of Tennessee, 101 thousand fans, but the reality is I'm as excited about going to Billings, Montana, with 1,000 fans." - Cole on SportsCenter

If Billings gets a Banana Ball series, can Missoula? Or Kalispell? Obviously, the Missoula Paddleheads play legit baseball, but they do such a great job emphasizing fun around the game, in the ballpark. We're not on the schedule for 2026, but maybe down the road.
Other "close" Banana Ball games are in Tacoma, Washington (May 22-24), Boise, Idaho (July 31-August 1), and Salt Lake City, Utah (August 13-15).
