Interpersonal Violence Dominates Missoula Crime This Week
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 11 new criminal complaints this week. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst provided KGVO with her weekly report.
“One of those was a drug case, which is refreshing to hear,” Pabst said. “There was one property crime and it was a criminal mischief case. In that case, the defendant allegedly tipped over the victim’s Harley and caused substantial damage. We filed two criminal endangerment cases and a whole handful of violent cases.”
Pabst said they charged an attempted kidnapping cases and an assault with a weapon case in which the defendant stabbed a stranger with a serrated knife. The highest number of cases in any category this week fell under the interpersonal violence category.
“We filed five partner or family member assault cases, one assault with a weapon, and another partner or family member assault first offense,” Pabst said. “In that case, the defendant allegedly bit and tried to drag the victim from the car in the presence of minor children. There was another partner or family member assault, plus an assault, plus a destruction of a communication device. The victim was the defendant’s estranged partner and a new companion.”
Pabst said they also charged one partner or family member assault third offense, which is considered a felony.
