In Bear Country..Pack More Than Just Bear Spray

In a recent story on KGVO/KLYQ news , a Missoula man shot a charging female grizzly with a 44 magnum pistol to defend himself. Gary Marbut, President of the Montana Shooting Sports Association says he always counsels people traveling in bear country to carry a firearm for protection,because bear spray is not always reliable, depending upon several conditions..my interview with Marbut is attached.

Marbut says people recreating in bear country should always be aware of their surroundings, and not travel alone.
