The nonprofit ‘Imagine Missoula’ will be receiving a check on Thursday from the Missoula Building Industry Association to assist with their work to help those less fortunate with various building and home improvement projects.

MBIA Executive Officer Janna Geier said Imagine Missoula was selected from a number of nonprofits who applied for the annual grant from funds raised at the organization’s ‘Denim and Diamonds’ gala in December.

“Imagine Missoula helps people in many ways,” Geier said. “You and I can walk through a snowdrift, but there are lots of people who can’t, so Imagine Missoula does things like snow removal for the elderly. They have a huge volunteer base that goes out and does small projects like snow shoveling and yard cleanup, but they also do home improvement projects. They can fix a leaky sink, they can paint your house and a huge spectrum of volunteer work, and we’ll be presenting a check for $9,250. We put out an application every spring and nonprofits are welcome to apply for the funds.”

Any group that wishes to apply should contact Janna Geier at 543-4423, otherwise contact the Missoula Nonprofit Network.
