The University of Montana’s Homecoming Parade is just around the corner. Associate Director of the Alumni Association Susan Cuff, has details about how to get your float in the event.

"The Homecoming Parade is coming up and the early bird deadline is September 9th which is this Friday," Cuff said. "The final cutoff date is Friday, September 16th and any entries that are registered after September 16th will pay the $35 entrance fee and possibly be placed at the back of the parade."

In previous years the Alumni Association has tried to have around 120 floats, but Cuff said that number is flexible.

"Two to three years ago we were at about 127 entries, but we got them all in and everyone had a wonderful time," said Cuff. "It's a community wide parade and it's great collaboration between the community and the university. We really don’t want to say no to anyone. We will push it as far as we can and just make everyone march a little faster."

Applications can be picked up at the Missoula Chamber of Commerce or at the Office of Alumni relations on campus. The Homecoming Parade will take place on Saturday October 1st at 10 a.m. with the theme "Under the Big Sky".
