Highway 12 Reopened After 3 Semi-Crash [AUDIO]

Icy roads this morning led to the crash of three semi-trucks at mile marker 18 up Highway 12 outside of Lolo. 9-1-1 got the call at about 4 am, when the Montana Highway Patrol, Missoula County Sheriff's Deputies, Missoula Emergency Services, and the Montana Department of Transportation all responded. One person was taken to the hospital with undetermined injuries and nearly 100 gallons of diesel fuel leaked from one of the truck's fuel tanks. Reports say the loads the trucks were carrying remained secure.

The road was closed for almost 8 hours...and was reopened just after noon. Highway Patrol trooper Andrew Novak was the first on the scene and provided details. Click to listen.
