Hamilton Teen Sentenced For Graduation Gun Threat

A teenager accused of threatening to bring a gun to Hamilton High School's graduation and shoot students has been given a six-year deferred sentence and must continue mental health treatment.

The Ravalli Republic reports 18-year-old Adam Michael Chambers was sentenced Wednesday on a felony count of intimidation.

Chambers was arrested last June after threatening to bring an assault rifle to the school. At the time, he said he had an "extreme hatred" for students at the school and had been depressed for months.

After his arrest, Sheriff Chris Hoffman said Chambers never came close to carrying out the threat. Chambers was arrested following a 911 call that reported he was making threats.
