Guitar-wielding Man Threatens Missoula Police Officer
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 4:58 p.m. on May 27, 2025, a Missoula Police Department officer was dispatched to a reported disturbance near the intersection of Woody St. and Pine St. Dispatch advised two males were verbally arguing, and it appeared it was escalating. While en route, dispatch advised that the two were now physically fighting. One male with a guitar appeared as if they were going to hit the other male.
Once on scene, an officer observed plain-clothed deputies of the Missoula County Sheriff's Office contacting the two males. Then the officer contacted the male without the guitar, John Doe. Doe said a male, later identified as 38-year-old Robert Brueneman, came within inches of him, spit on him, and then walked away to retrieve his guitar out of the case.
Robert then told Doe he was going to hit him with the guitar and bash it into his skull. Doe showed the officer how the male was holding the guitar, which was demonstrated as if he were holding a baseball bat. Doe then told the officer that Robert brought the guitar up to his face, so he grabbed hold of it and pushed it away.

Robert Threatens Officer
Robert was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility. While en route, Robert began to rant and requested to be let go. Robert continued his rant and made threats that if or when he got out, he would kill someone.
Then Robert directed his anger towards the officerspecifically and stated, “It’s your fault. You’re responsible for this s**t because you’re the one driving me.” Robert continued, “Y’all are so f****d. F*****g put me on a goddamn terrorist watch list. I’m about to do some terrorist s**t. ‘Cause this is the last straw.” Robert continued, “F**k you. F**k 12. Like you in particular up front. F**k you. Don’t catch me outside without your vest on boy”.
