School is out for the holiday break and both of the Grizzlies teams, men and women's, are on a short break. The men's team has a few more days to rest and will play Portland State at the Adams Center Wednesday, December 28th to open Big Sky Conference play. They go into the game with a 7-5 record. They are led by the play of Bob Cousy Award Candidate point guard Will Cherry, who averages 14 points per game and just over two assists per game. The Lady Griz already had a short break to let them tackle finals week and they will have a few more days to rest until they play in the Lady Griz Holiday Classic Tournament, December 29th against Southern Miss. The team goes into the break with a 5-6 record. Big Sky Conference play opens for the Lady Griz January 2nd at Eastern Washington. They are led by Katie Baker, who averages 13.4 points per game. The Lady Griz have played well, but have been victimized by poor shooting. They will look to improve in the offensive end and compete for the Big Sky crown.
