Today (October 24) on Talk Back we will be speaking to members of Results, an activist group that works to end poverty largely by influencing legislation and policy. The Results mission statement "is to create the public and political will to end poverty by empowering individuals to exercise their personal and political power for change."

Some of the domestic policies Results supports include federal support of childcare programs, a single-payer healthcare system, and the Earned Income Tax Credit. Results is currently working to get an advocate from both the Republican and Democratic parties in both houses of congress.

When it comes to worldwide programs, Results seeks to change the way the U.S. distributes foreign aid, the rules of the International Monetary Fund, and even the way lending works.

Indeed, the face of micro-lending, 2006 Nobel Peace Price winner Muhammad Yunus, is a public advocate for Results.
