Girl injured in fall from carnival ride in western Montana
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Authorities say a girl was injured when she fell from a carnival ride at the Western Montana Fair.
Missoula Police Sgt. Jim Klawitter says the girl, who is 11 or 12 years old, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries when she fell from the Typhoon ride Thursday evening. She was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The Missoulian reports the ride was shut down after the accident, and inspectors are trying to determine what went wrong. Investigators have not released the girl's name or said how far she fell.
The newspaper posted a photo online showing a safety fence that was apparently damaged by the girl's fall.
