The preparation work continues for the outdoor concert of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on the western lawn of the Daly Mansion grounds Saturday. The concert is at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and is part of a fundraising day for the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital Foundation. Tickets are $50. "Big Bad" has been in Hamilton twice before - initially for an over-the-top Christmas show a few years back and then again only a couple of years ago. Both of those shows were in the Performing Arts Center. This show is outdoors, so bring your blankets and lawn chairs and, if you want to purchase adult beverages, an I.D. Check-in starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are at the Marcus Daly website. Scroll down to get tickets for ONLY the concert.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is only one of several great live performances this summer in Hamilton. The summer started with the musical comedy "Disaster!" at the Hamilton Playhouse. Then, an outdoor baroque concert at the Bitterroot Public Library with Dark Horse. Violinist Tim Fain "wowed" us at his summer show. And then, the Tomcats and the Ringling Five were at the free Friday shows at Sapphire Lutheran Homes. Coming this Friday night, July 12, the Beatles for Sale Tribute band from Las Vegas will be at the free concert on Sapphire's Large Lawn. We have Joan Zen for the Daly Days Street Dance July 27 and the next night, Reverend Slanky will play for the Bitterroot Microbrew Fest. The Hard times Bluegrass Festival will set the woods a-rockin' that same weekend, south of town. The Bitterroot Celtic Games and Gathering in August always has some great Irish music through the weekend, too. That's a lot of music for a little town. Of course, there's the amazing concert lineup in Missoula this summer and fall... Keep on smilin' and tappin' your foot!
