Fishing Access Change at Flathead Lake

The Elmo Fishing Access Site is closed. The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks lease with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation was not renewed and the site closed this past weekend. Officials with FWP said in a news release that the department is focusing its recreation management in the Big Arm area of the popular lake. The closed site is near the town of Elmo and a new site could be located at the Big Arm Unit of Flathead Lake State Park - if an easement is finalized.
