The exterior design for the new Washington-Grizzly Champions Center has been finalized. The end result will be a new 46,000 square-foot state of the art facility, tucked into the southwest corner of Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

UM Sports Information Director for football, Eric Taber, said CTA Architects of Missoula have released the design so that the public can get a taste of how the Champions Center will look.

"The Champions Center is going to be a brand new strength and conditioning facility for all of our student athletes," said Taber. "It's going to house a new football locker room and it's going to provide more team meeting space in order to provide a better facility for our athletes, and to keep up with other schools in recruiting."

In November of 2014, Kyle and Kevin Washington, on behalf of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, made a historic lead gift of $7 million to kick start funding for the project, which will cost over $14 million in total.

Taber said construction will begin in the spring of 2016 and be completed by the start of football season in 2017.
