Driver Found Passed Out at Casino Faces Felony Charges

Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On April 18, 2026, at approximately 6:30 PM, Missoula Police Department Officers responded to a request for a welfare check at the Nickel Ante Casino at 1925 Sherwood Street. The 911 caller reported that a woman was passed out in a running red Subaru Legacy and provided the license plate number. The officer responded and, upon arrival, observed a female in the driver’s seat of the Subaru, who was later identified as 41-year-old Lindsay Kahm.  

An officer noticed that Kahm was now awake and asked if she needed any medical attention. Kahm declined and stated she was just sleeping as she was too tired to drive home. Kahm stated she works in Bonner and had to drive home to Ronan. This statement stood out to the officer, since driving from Bonner to Ronan does not require an individual to exit off the interstate until reaching Highway 93 N.  

The officer also noted the casino was not near an interstate exit, so Kahm would have needed to make a large detour to arrive at the casino. Then the officer was informed by dispatch that Kahm was on probation. The officer contacted the on-call probation officer, informing them of her contact with Kahm. The officer inquired if Kahm had gone inside the casino at the request of probation.

The officer spoke with the 911 caller and an employee of the casino. She reported Kahm did not, but had been sitting in her car for around 45 minutes before she called law enforcement. She said she went outside to check on Kahm and observed Kahm to be slumped over the center console, towards the passenger seat, which she noted did not seem like a normal sleeping position.  

The officer communicated these findings to the on-call probation officer, who requested a search of Kahm’s vehicle. During the search, the officer located a small zipper bag inside Kahm’s purse. Inside the bag were three small plastic baggies. The officer noted one was empty, one had a very small amount of what appeared to be methamphetamine residue, and the last one contained suspected methamphetamine.

Kahm was placed under arrest and transported to the detention center. She is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
