A body was found in a load of coal at a plant on Chicago's South Side.

Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office say the body was found Sunday when a load of coal was emptied at KCBX terminal. The medical examiner's office says the body was the last thing that fell out of the container as it was emptied into a hopper.

The office says neither the gender of the remains nor a cause of death was immediately apparent.

Police say the coal car was filled Aug. 18 in Montana.

Police are investigating and an autopsy is scheduled.
