Man Damages Several Missoula Cars With an Unusual Item
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 2:50 p.m. on May 1, 2025, a Missoula Police Department officer responded to a report of disorderly conduct at the Walgreens on Brooks Street. The 911 complainant said that there was a male inside the store who tossed a bunch of soda off the shelf. She explained that the male was wearing a long green trench coat and had a crutch. She explained that the male was no longer in the store.
As the officer responded, more 911 complainants advised that the male was in the roadway and was swinging his crutch at vehicles that were passing by. Another officer arrived and observed a male who matched the description of the suspect walking in Ruby’s parking lot.
The officer activated his top lights, exited his patrol vehicle, and ordered the male to stop. The male advanced towards the officer and appeared to be reaching towards the inside of his coat with his left hand. The officer ordered the male to stop walking towards him, warning him that he would otherwise be tased. The male cursed at the officer and began walking away. The officer attempted to tase the male but was not successful, and provided additional verbal commands to stop walking. The male continued walking and yelling incoherently.

The officers advanced on the male and physically gained control of him, taking him to the ground. The officers recognized the male from other interactions as 42-year-old Paul Kreiner, which was confirmed through booking photos.
Kreiner was transported to the hospital for medical clearance. Kreiner yelled profanities and threatened the officers. He was also aggressive and agitated towards officers and medical staff, to the point that a spit hood and WRAP device were required.
Meanwhile, an officer responded to the area of Kreiner’s arrest and spoke with several witnesses. According to court documents, they all reported that Kreiner hit and damaged multiple vehicles with his crutch. One witness said he was given a quote for the total damage to his work truck, which was approximately $3,000.
