Crime Numbers Were Far Below Average Last Week in Missoula
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed seven new criminal complaints so far this week. However, they were reviewing five more felony cases on Friday morning. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst described some of the incidents that occurred.
“Two of the crimes that we filed this week fell into the violent crime category,” Pabst said. “Both cases were partner or family member assaults that escalated to the felony level, involving a weapon. In one, the charge was assault with a weapon PFMA as well as criminal mischief. The defendant allegedly damaged the vehicle of his estranged girlfriend.”
According to Pabst, there were five property crimes as well.
“Two of those were thefts,” Pabst said. “In one, the defendant was found inside of a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Lake County. We charged an embezzlement case. The defendant was charged with stealing a significant amount of cash from his employer and was caught on video.”
There was also a drug case in which the defendant was in possession of heroin and needles at the Bonner Town Pump.
