Crime Numbers Were Abnormally High This Past Week in Missoula
Crime numbers were abnormally high this past week in Missoula. The County Attorney’s Office filed 25 new criminal complaints. County Attorney Kirsten Pabst says not all of those were in custody cases.
“We had four violent crimes, four endangerment crimes, 14 property crimes, two drug cases and one administrative,” Pabst said. “When it comes to violent crimes, there were two partner or family member assaults and two people charged with assault with a weapon against non-family members. In one, the defendant was charged with four counts of assault with a weapon for wielding a knife and allegedly trying to stab a couple of people.”
In the other violent case, the defendant pulled a knife on someone during a tenant landlord dispute. Pabst also described two child endangerment cases.
“In one, the defendant was extremely intoxicated with a seven-year-old in the vehicle,” Pabst said. “In the other, the defendant was pulled over for smoking marijuana in the vehicle with her five and seven-year-old also in the car.”
According to Pabst, there were multiple drug cases as well.
“There was one methamphetamine possession,” Pabst said. “There was another case in which the defendant was charged with one count of felony theft for a stolen vehicle and several counts for possession of drugs with intent to sell that included both meth and heroin.”
In addition to all of those cases, Pabst says 10 people were charged with felony theft.
