Clinton Woman Arrested After Probation Search Uncovers Meth
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 6, 2026, at approximately 10:39 a.m., Missoula Probation and Parole contacted Missoula Dispatch requesting an additional unit to respond to a residence in the 16900 block of Highway 10 East in Clinton, Montana. Probation and Parole was conducting a probation search and had located what they suspected to be drugs.
A Missoula Police Department Officer responded to the location and contacted Probation and Parole Officers. A PO said they conducted a probation search of a RV travel trailer belonging to 53-year-old Kari Wagner. During the search, officers located a small clear plastic container with a screw-off lid inside a wooden box.
The container was found near the living room seating area of the RV. Inside the container was a white, crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine. The MPD officer contacted Wagner inside the trailer and read her Miranda rights, which she stated she understood and was willing to answer questions.

During the interview, Wagner stated the white substance inside the clear plastic container was “reconstituted methamphetamine.” According to court documents, she said she heats the methamphetamine on tin foil and inhales the smoke while handing the officer the tinfoil. Wagner stated she suffers from PTSD and uses methamphetamine because she believes it helps calm her; despite knowing it is a central nervous system stimulant.
The officer asked Wagner where she obtained the methamphetamine. She stated it was provided by a friend who brought it to her trailer on December 29. Wagner also stated she would test positive for methamphetamine if subjected to a urinalysis.
The officer later responded to the Missoula Police Department evidence department, where he tested the white crystal-like substance located inside the clear screw-off lid container. The substance yielded a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine. The officer logged the clear plastic container and the piece of tin foil used to heat the substance into evidence and completed a Montana Crime Lab submission form for further analysis.
