Mike Haynes has accepted the position as Development Service Director for the City of Missoula, as of May 6.

Haynes is leaving his present position in Great Falls as Planning and Community Development Director to come to Missoula. Before working in Great Falls, Haynes was a project manager in the private sector for Orange County, Florida, as well as being the chief planning and zoning official for the City of Orlando.

Haynes said Wednesday that he is a great believer in annexation and infill development, seeing both as efficient ways to develop in a place where infrastructure is already in place.

The Development Services Department was formerly known as the Missoula Office of Planning and Grants.

Haynes is a native of London, England, but has lived and worked in the United States for most of his adult life.
