Cheers and Tears at Bitterroot College Graduation Friday
The Bitterroot College of the University of Montana graduated 21 students in ceremonies Friday afternoon on the Daly Mansion grounds in Hamilton. It was the seventh annual graduation for the community college, with cheers from families and tears of joy from the graduates. Bitterroot College Director Victoria Clark handed out the degrees.
Keynote speaker Nathan Lindsay, Associate Provost for Dynamic Learning and Associate Professor of Educational Leadership at the Missoula University of Montana campus, suggested seven principles for the graduates to follow in life. Bitterroot College Chemistry Teacher Jennifer Johnson urged students to continue their individual paths, remembering that "Nothing is Impossible for the Willing."
The May 11 ceremony included special honors for college supporter Dixie Stark and Roch Turner, Director of Program Development at the Hamilton campus.
Graduating were: Saundra Amsden, Thomas Anderson, Trini Bissonette, Andrew Cahill, Sonny Capece, Young (Kim) Delvo, Mariah Eckert, Sarah Ekkelboom, Michael Evans, Elizabeth Hennessey, Amanda Henslin, Daniel Jessop, Ariel Joseph, Kelly McCarthy, Kaytlyn Menk, Nicole Phillips, Austin Ray, Laura Rich, Naomi Tharp, Cassaundra Tintzman and Claire Zebrowski.
