Carroll Men’s Basketball Signs JC Transfer

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Carroll College men's basketball coach Brandon Veltri has announced the signing of forward Dennis Mikelonis, a transfer from the College of Southern Idaho.

Mikelonis played in 19 games for the Golden Eagles during the 2009-10 season and led the team in 3-point shooting at 44 percent. He redshirted during the 2010-11 season after suffering a knee injury. The winter, in 22 games, he averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds while playing just under 10 minutes per game.

Veltri says Mikelonis is an athletic, versatile player who will be able to step in and make an immediate impact with the Saints.

Mikelonis graduated from Borah High School in Boise, Idaho, where he set the school's rebounding record.

Carroll posted a 14-13 record this winter and finished fourth in the Frontier Conference standings.
