Suspected Burglar Flees But Can’t Escape Missoula Police
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 12:34 a.m. on November 10, 2025, Missoula Police Department officers responded to a reported burglary attempt at Northern Pipes Glass, located at 1500 W. Broadway. The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male wearing a brown jacket and a beanie. An officer observed a male matching the description walking westbound near 1925 Sherwood St., which is near Northern Pipes Glass.
The officer attempted to contact the male, who quickly changed direction. The officer asked the male to stop, but the male picked up his pace and continued. The officer asked the male to stop again, and the male, later determined to be 21-year-old Jonathon Mead, complied.
The officer observed Mead was wearing a jean jacket, a brown sweatshirt, a brown beanie, and had a checkered backpack. Mead stated that he was intoxicated and was going to the PS Mini Mart, which the officer later determined closed at 11 p.m. Mead also appeared to be sweating despite cold temperatures that evening.

Employees Activated the Panic Alarm
Another officer spoke with two Northern Pipes employees who stated that they heard two loud banging noises against the front door and activated the panic alarm. Officers obtained surveillance footage from Northern Pipes. When reviewing the footage, at 12:31 a.m., a male wearing the exact clothing that Mead was wearing at the time of his interaction with the officer at 12:36 a.m. enters the frame, also wearing a checkered backpack visually identical to the one worn by Mead.
The male has a large rock in his right hand and strikes the middle of the front door with the rock. After striking the glass, the male leaves northbound, in the general direction of 1925 Sherwood St. An officer observed small chips in the door in the area where the male struck it with the rock. A later review of security footage showed the male also kicking the door at approximately 12:29 a.m.
