Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 30, 2024, at approximately 10:32 a.m., a Missoula Police Department Officer received a report of a trespass/burglary occurring at the Triple Dragon Restaurant, which is currently closed and is being used as storage for motel furnishings. The complainant stated an unauthorized male was inside the building.

A short time later, the officer located the male, later identified as 20-year-old Jase Pinski, nearby. The officer made contact with Pinski and told him to stop. Pinski immediately reached for the front pocket of his sweatshirt and then his left pants pocket. Pinski ignored commands to remove his hands from his pockets. As the officer approached Pinski, Pinski began to run away. The officer noted in his report that he was very concerned that Pinski possessed a weapon.

The officer pursued Pinski and caught him within a short distance. Pinski spun toward the officer, so the officer took him to the ground. The officer attempted to secure Pinski, but Pinski struggled against him and said, “I’m going to shoot you.” Pinski also continued to reach toward his pockets/waistband, causing the officer to believe he would be seriously injured or killed.

According to court documents, the officer drew his firearm and warned Pinski that he could be shot. Pinski allegedly replied, “Shoot me.” Pinski’s hands remained near his pockets/waistband during this time. The officer holstered his firearm and applied a taser to Pinski’s back.

Pinski then complied with the officer’s commands to show his hands, but once the taser wore off, he again moved his hands toward his torso. After being tasered again, the officer secured Pinski’s hands and placed him under arrest. No weapons were found on Pinski’s person.
