The body of Rebekah Barsotti was officially identified through dental records as the woman who went missing in July, 2021 near the Clark Fork River close to Superior, Montana.

KGVO News reached out to Mineral County Sheriff Mike Toth who said dental records confirmed that the young woman’s body was recovered from the Clark Fork River on May 17 was that of Rebekah Barsotti.

“Rebekah Barsotti was last seen on July 28, 2021 at approximately 2:15 p.m. at the Town Pump in Superior, Montana,” said Sheriff Toth. “On July 21, Rebecca was reported missing. An extensive water ground and air search began involving resources from four counties and the Two Bear Air helicopter out of Whitefish.”

Sheriff Toth said the investigation has been ongoing since the young woman was reported missing.

“Her vehicle and some personal items were located at mile marker 71 at a pull off by Clark Fork River, near Alberton,” he said. Mineral County Search and Rescue, Missoula County Search and Rescue and members of the Kootenai County and Flathead County Search and Rescue began an extensive search in and around the Clark Fork River. Combined, over 2,000 hours were dedicated to the search.”

Sheriff Toth expressed his gratitude to all those individuals and agencies that conducted the extensive search.

“The Mineral County Sheriff's Office would like to thank all those who assisted with the search and recovery,” he said. “A special thanks to Superior Fire, the Missoula County Sheriff's Office, Mineral County Search and Rescue, Missoula County Search and Rescue, Kootenai County Search and Rescue and Flathead Search and Rescue and again to Two Bear Air helicopter.”

Sheriff Toth also expressed his condolences to the friends and family of Rebekah Barsotti.
