Big Birthday Weekend for KGVO’s Peter Christian

Yes, I'll admit it... I turned 60 on Friday, May 24, 2013.

Not only that, but 2013 marks my 40th year in broadcasting! I remember when my dad was still alive, he would always ask me the same question.

"Son, when are you going to get a real job?"

Well, 40 years later, I'm still doing radio... and very happy indeed. My kids, Luke and Jenna, got together and gave me and my beautiful wife, Lorna, a weekend at the Coeur D' Alene Resort! Fancy dinner, golf, luxurious room, the whole package, and it was great!! Below, see a photo of me playing golf.

Now, I know it looks more like I'm chopping wood, but it's actually my golf swing... 40 yards straight down the opposite fairway, every time! After all, they call it 'golf' because all the really good four-letter words were already taken.

For my birthday, my co-workers got me gifts I can really use...(please see photo of Dr Pepper, Chips Ahoy cookies and puffy Cheetos). Then, at Beverly's Restaurant, they gave me this cotton candy dessert with a scoop of ice cream and a candle in the middle.

All in all, it was a terrific birthday, and my thanks to all! Remember, turning 60... sure beats the alternative, if you know what I mean!
