A female Montana State University student was attacked on Wednesday night.

Spokesman Tracy Ellig said the attack occurred  just before 11:00 p. m. and near an area called the duck pond.

"The man grabbed the woman by her hair and pushed her down in the trees just east of the Duck Pond,” Ellig said. “She was able to fight him off. The man was last seen running north from the Duck Pond. He is described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, average build, possibly with acne on his face. He was last seen wearing an unknown colored hoodie."

Ellig said the call came in to the MSU police department. Officers responded and searched the area. The suspect is still at large.
