Are Satisfied With How Much You Pay for Health Care? — Survey of the Day
While there is a widespread consensus that the overall costs of health care in the United States are out of control, individual policy holders aren't necessarily up in arms about their monthly rates.
According to a Gallup poll of 1,015 adults, 59 percent say they are satisfied with what they pay for health care, whereas 39 percent are dissatisfied. These percentages have remained stable over the past decade.
There is, however, an increasing difference in satisfaction level among those who get Medicare/Medicaid and those who use private insurance. In 2002 both groups were equally satisfied with what they pay. This year 76 percent of Medicare/Medicaid recipients were satisfied and only 57 percent of those who use private insurance were.
