21-Year-Old Arrested for His 4th DUI in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On November 21, 2025, a Montana Highway Patrol Trooper was patrolling Highway 10 West near mile marker 4 in Missoula County, Montana. The speed limit along that stretch of road is 55 miles per hour. The trooper observed a BMW Sudan traveling westbound. The BMW was caught on the trooper’s radar going 73 miles per hour, so the trooper conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, 21-year-old Zane Wilson, had two passengers in the vehicle. The trooper introduced himself and Wilson inquired if he was driving too fast. The trooper observed Wilson’s speech was slurred and slow, Wilson’s eyes were watery, and the trooper noted a strong scent of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. Wilson advised he did not have insurance for the vehicle.
The trooper asked Wilson whether Wilson had anything to drink. Wilson denied drinking that day twice and blamed the passengers for the scent of alcohol. The trooper had Wilson exit the vehicle. As Wilson was out of the vehicle, the trooper observed Wilson appear unsteady on his feet. The trooper further noted the smell of alcohol coming from Wilson directly.

He Admitted to Drinking Alcohol
The trooper decided to have Wilson perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Wilson indicated six out of six clues for impairment on the HGN, four out of eight clues of impairment on the Walk and Turn, and two out of four clues of impairment on the One Leg Stand. According to court documents, Wilson admitted to drinking “a beer, two beers” around 6:00 a.m., but later admitted to drinking two 12 ounce Twisted Teas around 7:00 a.m.
The trooper read the Preliminary Alcohol Screening Test Advisory. Wilson agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in a BrAC of 0.154. The trooper then read the Implied Consent and Wilson agreed to submit a breath test. Due to an issue with the Intoxylizer, the trooper re-read the Implied Consent and asked Wilson to submit to a blood test, which he consented to.
Wilson was transported to St. Patrick’s Hospital where his blood was drawn. Wilson has three prior convictions for DUIs. Wilson also has a prior conviction for no insurance in Missoula’s Justice Court from July of 2024.
