DILLON, Mont. (AP) — Montana Western men’s basketball coach Steve Keller has announced the signing of 6-foot-5 post Tige Wingo of Twain Harte, Calif.

Wingo averaged 12.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a senior at Summerville Union High School and was third in the league with 3.5 assists per game.

Keller says Wingo is a strong, athletic post player who also has the ability to step outside and hit a 3-point shot.

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Montana State women’s basketball coach Tricia Binford says former Gonzaga head coach Kellee Barney has joined the MSU staff as an assistant coach.

Barney replaces Giuliana Mendiola, who left MSU to take an assistant coaching job at UC Riverside.

Binford says Barney’s experience and familiarity with the northwest region and the west coast will be beneficial for the Bobcat program.

Barnee served as an assistant coach at Oregon State from 2008-10 and before that was assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator at Arizona for six seasons. She was head coach at Gonzaga from 1994-2000.

Barnee played basketball for two seasons at the University of Idaho, graduating in 1983, was an assistant at Portland from 1983-84 and was associate head coach at Washington State from 1985-94.
