DILLON, Mont. (AP) — Montana Western guard Brandon Brown has signed a contract to play basketball in Australia.

Western coach Steve Keller says Brown has made great progress in his all-around game over the past three years and is confident Brown can succeed at the professional level.

Brown says he's excited to fulfill his dream to play basketball professionally. He is joining the Mount Gambier Pioneers of the Southeast Australian Basketball League next week.

Brown is a two-time NAIA All-American, was twice named the Frontier Conference player of the year and led the league in scoring and assists. As a senior, he averaged 22.4 points and 4.6 assists per game in helping Western advance to the NAIA national tournament. Brown also was named to the NAIA all-tournament team.

Brown graduates this month with a degree in business administration.
