Two men, Lance Ring and William Russell both appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Friday charged with unrelated sex crimes.

Ring, 32, was charged with felony sexual intercourse without consent. He is accused of placing his penis into the mouth of a six year-old girl on May 13. He was arrested on May 20 and placed in the Missoula County Jail where he was released after posting $50,000 bond.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Suzy Boylen asked Judge Karen Orzech to continue Ring's bond at $50,000, and also asked for certain conditions for his release.

"We would ask that standard conditions of release be imposed, along with the additional conditions that the defendant be on GPS, that he have no contact with children whatsoever, and no contact with the child in this case, or her residence," Boylen said.

Felony Sexual Intercourse Without Consent carries a maximum penalty of up to 100 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

William Farrell Russell, 52, was charged with felony deviate sexual conduct for placing an ad on Craigslist, offering his German Shepherd dog for sexual encounters with humans. Missoula Police Detective Chris Shermer responded, posing as a female interested in the service, and set up a meet with Russell on Thursday, May 21. When Russell arrived, accompanied by his black German Shepherd, he was arrested. He posted $50,000 bond and was released from the Missoula County Jail.

Deputy County Attorney Selene Koepke asked Judge Orzech to continue Russell's bail at $50,000, along with other conditions for his release.

"The State would recommend that the defendant should have no contact or possession of animals, no internet access or Craigslist usage during the case, and all other standard conditions," Koepke said.

Russell, who lives in Seeley Lake, asked Judge Orzech for access to a computer to conduct his business, and she allowed him to use his iPhone only. Russell's attorney made arrangements to remove the dog and place it with animal control.

Deviate Sexual Conduct is a felony and carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, and or a $50,000 fine.
