20 year-old Grizzly football player Trevor Poole appeared in Missoula justice court via video from the Missoula County jail Monday on a charge of possession of dangerous drugs, a felony.

Poole, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, answered questions put to him by Judge John Odlin. Deputy Missoula County Attorney Shaun Donovan recommended to the court that due to his lack of criminal record, and his cooperation with authorities upon his arrest, that Poole be released on his own recognizance.

Judge Odlin agreed to the state's recommendation, with the stipulation that he refrain from the use of any alcohol or drugs, not enter any establishment that has a liquor license, and not carry any weapons of any kind for any reason. The court also granted Poole permission to visit his family in Spokane, Washington.

According to University of Montana Athletic Director Kent Haslam, Poole has been suspended indefinitely from the football team for a violation of the student athlete code of conduct. Poole was a starting offensive lineman.
